Mountains high and covered with tropical forests, waterfalls and rivers fabulous torrential are the ingredients of the natural diversity and adventurous de la Provincia de Heredia. The wild mountains of Braulio Carrillo National Park, are characterized by their inpenetrables forests, rivers and deep countless cataracts. Nature is the main theme of this province where one can walk to a height of 40 meters between the tops of the trees, rivers or walk tours of rapids.

In Heredia one can find some industrial zones, as well as the site of the National Center of food distribution CENADA (Centro Nacional de Distribución de Alimentos) But most of the area is dedicated to agriculture growing coffee, vegetables, sugar cane, fruits, corn, beans, dairy-farming, flower and plant exportation.
